EU consultation on the market access in inland waterway transport

The European Commission is currently assessing several pieces of legislation on the access and functioning of the inland waterways transport market to determine whether the legislation is fit-for-purpose and whether it supports the smooth and fair functioning of the internal market.

In this context a public consultation is being carried out to gather the views and input of stakeholders. This consultation may be of particular interest for ministries, national authorities, international river commissions, international associations, barge owners and barge operators.

The consultation is open until 11 March 2022 and the questionnaire is available in different official EU languages.

More information and the access to the survey can be found here.
